Privacy policy
Effective October 19, 2026
Nono is an iPhone app, with a companion server called nono-server, made by David Ruiz ("we"). This policy says what Nono does with your information, including the data it receives from Google when you sign in with Google.
The short version
- We run no service that receives your conversations, your files or your Google data.
- Your data stays on your iPhone and on the nono-server you run on a computer you control.
- Google data goes to the AI model you chose for your bot, only to answer your requests. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models.
Where your information lives
On your iPhone. Nono keeps the addresses and keys of your servers in the iOS Keychain, and your conversations and Feed in a local database on the phone.
On your nono-server. nono-server runs on a computer you choose: your Mac, a home server or a cloud server you rent. It stores your bots' settings, conversations and saved keys there, in files only your user account can read.
Notifications. If you turn on notifications through Nono Push, our forwarder passes encrypted notifications to Apple. It cannot read them, and does not know which server or bot sent them.
We do not collect analytics, crash reports or usage data.
Data from Google
When you sign in with Google, you choose what Nono may access. Nono asks only for these permissions:
| Permission | What Nono does with it |
|---|---|
| Read your email messages | Your bots search and read your mail to answer you: find a message, summarize a thread, prepare a reply. |
| Send email on your behalf | A bot sends an email or a reply only after you approve its recipients and its whole text on your phone. |
| See your calendars and events | Your bots read your schedule to answer questions, find free time and prepare you for meetings. |
| View and edit events on your calendars | A bot creates, changes or answers an event only when you approve it on your phone. |
| See your contacts | Your bots look up people by name to find their email address or phone number. |
| See and edit Google Drive files you use with Nono | Your bots read files you pick and create files you ask for. They cannot see the rest of your Drive. |
How it flows. Google sends this data to your own nono-server, which keeps your sign-in token on that machine. When you ask a bot something that needs your Google data, nono-server fetches only what that request needs and gives it to the AI model your bot runs on (for example Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, or a model running on your own computer), under that provider's terms with you. What the bot answers is kept in that conversation on your iPhone and your nono-server.
Your mail. Nono fetches only the messages a request needs, does not copy your mailbox, and never sends, deletes or changes mail on its own. Instructions written inside an email are treated as the sender's words, not yours.
What we never do. We never receive your Google data. Nono does not sell it, use it for advertising, let people read it, or use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
Nono's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
- Disconnect Google in Nono, or remove Nono's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. nono-server then deletes its token.
- Delete a conversation in Nono to remove it from your phone and your nono-server.
- Delete the Nono app to remove its data from your iPhone, and the
~/.nonofolder to remove everything nono-server stored.
Children
Nono is not intended for children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with its date.
